In what seems like an astonishing feat, 190 students of Chirec International School, Hyderabad has successfully been able to provide relief in the form of 4 LAKH plus meals to those in need. How is that possible? One may wonder. The long & short of it – CROWDFUNDING.

Students from across Grade 9 – 12 of both the IB & CBSE wing of Chirec Intl. School, did crowdfunding campaigns on Fueladream.com in the months of June & July 2020. Their aim was to provide cooked meals to daily wage workers who was in dire straits because of the COVID-19 lockdown in Hyderabad & Telangana. This was facilitated by the NGO Akshaya Patra.

Akshaya Patra is the largest provider of mid-day meals to students in the world. During COVID-19 they have cooked and delivered/distributed over 7 crore meal servings pan India. They are Bengaluru based.

This crowd funding campaign is a testament to millennials and Gen Z empathizing with the less privileged. This endorses our campaign that no individual should go hungry. We are humbled that these students have come forward and crowd-funded Akshaya Patra which exists to serve the society.”
